Automobiles
In the automobile industry, polyurethane foam finds various applications. Although seating is one area which is readily identifiable, other areas where polyurethane foam is used include door panels, roof linings, steering wheels, passenger shell sound insulation, engine area thermal insulation, carpet underlay, vibration dampening of the transmission column, dash boards, bumpers of cars, etc. The density of foam and the grade used in automobiles varies depending on the primary purpose of the component in which it is used. Using polyurethane foam in cars increases the comfort factor and also meets every quality parameter, as each foaming is laboratory-tested for density, tensile strength, elongation, hardness and compression set and flammability.
