Packaging

Since polyurethane is light, inexpensive and durable foam, it has many applications in packaging. Foam-In-Place polyurethane packing is designed for single use, one way cushion packing as it is inexpensive and quick. Convoluted (egg crate) foam, gasketing, filters, sponges and sound dampening (acoustical foam) are other packaging products made from polyurethane foam. In addition to this, anti-static foam is used in electronics packaging. It is used in non-abrasive, static-free polyurethane foam rolls which are recommended for use with static sensitive equipment. It is also useful for circuit boards, resistors and other electronic components. Lightweight, non-abrasive polyurethane foam provides excellent protection from static discharge during trans-shipment.
